Every factual assertion must be corroborated by at least two independent primary sources or certified documentation (official gazettes, financial audits, satellite imagery, peer-reviewed scientific publications). Anonymous sourcing is only permitted when lives, livelihoods, or safety are at verified risk, subject to approval by the Editor-in-Chief.
2. Independence & Non-Partisanship
The Point Africa maintains complete independence from political parties, governmental administrations, and corporate financiers. Editorial decisions are strictly separated from commercial, advertising, and sponsorship interests. Sponsored articles and native advertising are distinctly labelled and subject to editorial vetting.
3. Transparent Corrections & Clarifications Policy
When an error of fact occurs, The Point Africa promptly issues a transparent correction directly on the affected post, clearly detailing the date, nature of the error, and corrected text. We do not stealth-edit articles without public editorial acknowledgment.
4. Whistleblower Protection & Data Encryption
We protect our confidential informants and whistleblowers using end-to-end encrypted submission channels and strict metadata scrubbing protocols. We do not retain server logs of confidential tips.
